Cowles Announces Expansion of Cowles Customizer™ Program

Eau Claire, Wisconsin (July 20, 2004) – Cowles Legal Systems, Inc. has released Version 15.2 of their Trust Plus® estate planning system and TrusTerminator® postmortem system which, in addition to various technical and legal updates and enhancements, significantly expands the ease of use of Cowles Customizer™ included with these software programs.

With V15.2, adding your own letters and documents to the Cowles’ system is even easier. This latest enhancement of the Cowles Customizer feature allows Cowles’ members to simply cut and paste any document into a user-defined document within the software – r etaining the look of the document without the need to insert formatting codes. The extensive drop-down menus for inserting merge codes remain in Customizer. With the click of a mouse, a client’s name, address, or many other merge codes can be inserted.

The Customizer feature allows you to utilize the Cowles’ engine to systematize any document used in the office. Once a document is added, it is integrated with all standard Cowles’ documents. For example, if a specific form of real estate document, special needs trust, funding document or other unique document is utilized on a regular basis, it can simply be blocked and copied into Customizer, and the program will automatically carry the formatting codes into the document. Then, by simply clicking on the drop down menu, codes are inserted for client data to be inserted in pertinent areas, and any time you create documents using your Cowles’ system, the client data will be carried into your user-defined document for that client – without entering data again. Documents included in Cowles’ MemberDocs™ – where members share documents among themselves – can also be blocked and copied to make them standard documents within the Cowles’ system.

We designed our own engine that could fully integrate all documents so they’d all be consistent and require data to only be inserted once.
